Horse Show

We recently went down the road to watch a girl from the church participate in a horse show. While we were waiting for her, another girl brought her horse over for the girls to see.
Mary is enjoying CocoaThe girls were putting Cocoa to sleep...she was so relaxed
And here is a picture that Sarah drew of a horse...pretty good if you ask me!
Taylor and her horse Dixie. They did a great job and we enjoyed watching them!!

Priceless

Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone SPECIAL to be a DADDY!!
And NOTHING can get between this Daddy and his girls!!
True love! (just makes my heart melt!!)

District Picnic

A few weeks ago we attended the Pittsburgh District Clergy picnic. It was a beautiful day. The girls enjoyed the pool, and afterwards we enjoyed the food and fellowship.
"Mom, this suit is bothering me"
"Ahhh...much better!!"

SPARKLE Day

They had a plinko-type game

where you could win a lollipop (at least that is what we won)

And smiles were free!!

They had a ring toss that was harder than it looks.

And this ping pong ball toss which Miss Sarah mastered. She won, and her sister didn't; so before we left, Sarah spent her last ticket at this game so she could win a prize for her sister. (and by golly, she WON it) You had to get a ball to land in one of the bowls...but the trick was tossing it light enough that the ball wouldn't bounce back out.

And they had a duck pond

and of course, the local fire dept. :) (yep, they don't have red trucks...their trucks are bright blue!!)

Checking out Mary's winnings.

Jude's new fire department.

Kennywood (take 2)

Since we got rained out in July when we tried to go to Kennywood, Jill was able to get us rain checks. So we planned a day in August and tried it again. (it did rain, but not as bad as our July trip) Overall, we had a great time!! When we got there, we met the rest of the gang over in the Lost Kennywood section.
Alex and Sarah were buddies.
And this time Sarah even rode some rides. Yipee!!
And she loved this lion...it sucked up the garbage out of your hand. She went out hunting for more garbage. :)
Mary and Ashely enjoying the kiddieland version of the Whip
Sarah and Ashley enjoying the motorcycles. (Ashley just barely made it on the kiddie rides, but she was such a huge help with our girls-we sure were glad she made it on them!!)
Enjoying the turtle
And Mary and Ashley were buddies for the day.
Our last ride was the Garfield one on the way out...Bee and I were in the back of the boat.
And Dad and Boo were in the front. :)

The HILL

Here is the hill that did me in. I tried to conquer it and it conquered me.
This is a before picture.
And another somewhat before picture...it is just so overgrown and driving me crazy
And here is after I worked on it for a day.
And now the stuff on the left side is gone, but I have to say that root in the middle of the cleared section is what did me in. The third day I was outside working on it, had just started. I bent down, cut out one root and then I turned, started to lift that root and my back snapped. I dropped to the ground instantly and Sarah came to my rescue. She got my phone so I could call Jude to come lift me off the hill. It has been over a week and I am still not 100%. I have movement, but I also have pain and some restrictions. Plus I still can't lift anything. That darn hill...I'll get the best of it before this is over. (well the folks from the church will...I'm not allowed near it for a while.) Pictures of the new hill will be coming soon.
And I should mention, it is much steeper than it looks in these pics...trust me!!

Love cool evenings

A few weeks ago we called up Jim and Jill and "invited" ourselves over to have a fire. They graciously accepted. :) Jack was staying the night, so when he got there the girls attacked him. They sure love Jack!!
And this is what we got to enjoy!
And this. (sorry guys for blinding you with my flash)
And one of my favorites...SMORES!!
Thanks Pap and Grandma. We'll have to have more of these!!
