Paper Girls

One of our neighbors has been out of town this past week, so they asked us to pick up their paper. I turned it into a "Mary" project...letting her get it each evening (with my onlookin eye, and verbal commands) She has taken this job on with pleasure, each day she checks outside to see if the paper is there yet. I'm afraid she will be sad when they get home this week.
Today, Sarah wanted to "help" her get the paper.
Don't pay attention to the fact that it is going on evening and they were still in their jammies. :) We were bums today...had to be with a sick BEE. I didn't see any sense in getting them dressed just to get the paper.
Here is the paper girl herself. She has decided that as a "kid" she wants to deliver papers, preach and sing in Daddy's praise band. And she is insistant that these are all things she will do as a kid! Believe me, I bet she can do it!!
The paper girl and her handy helper!
I so wish we had nicer weather so the girls could get outside some. I think that would help everyone feel better. And I can't remember if I posted it or not, but Sarah has probably either an ear infection or a sinus infection. The doctor just called us in an antibiotic this morning because of her symptoms...let me tell you she is MISERABLE!!! The good part is, being sick has MADE her catch up on some of her sleep...and mine!! I'm on night duty tonight, so lets pray things go well. (Jude took the duty last night, but since he has to work in the morning...it's the least I can do.)

My lil' helper

We were hungry for a cake, so Sarah and I baked one. Even though she wasn't feeling the best, she was a great helper...poured or dumped in each of my ingredients...with no spills.
And then she helped mix it. (FYI...I had a hold of the cord, and besides the time for this pic had my hand on the mixer-don't want you to think I let her use it on her own...she is too young for that and they are too dangerous)

I didn't take a pic of the final product...but trust me it was tasty!!

This is the life

The other day after Sarah got up from a nap, she wanted to "relax" on the couch
With the foot rest kicked up and everything...what a life?
Meanwhile Mary was starved...and couldn't wait for her mac-n-cheese to be cooked. She thought sitting in her chair would speed things up.
Wish I could just kick back with my feet up, and when I was hungry, just go sit and wait for it to be placed in front of me. The lives of toddlers.

Just a note

Just a quick note..I am not adding pics tonight because I am exhausted. Sarah has not been sleeping at night...for quite a while now. Not sure what the problem is, but it continues to get WORSE. Last night was so bad, I ended up canceling the open gym/volleyball practice I had scheduled for this afternoon. Anyone that knows me, knows I was not feeling well to cancel. Jude took the girls with him this morning to run errands so I could catch some sleep...thank you honey!!! She is in bed now, but I have a feeling tonight will be another long night. She also seems to have something else going on..not sure what that is, but she was running a bit of a temperature tonight. So please keep her, and all of us for that matter, in your prayers.
So on that note...I'm off to bed!!

Good news

I found my living room floor again, after folding a LOT of laundry. Now I just need to find time to put it away.

And no..now wouldn't work, the girls are sleeping and I need in their room to put it away. Maybe tomorrow morning! :) Besides, wouldn't you rather I blog pictures than put laundry away?? That's what I thought! LOL

Is it open yet?

"We better call Meemaw or NanNan and tell them it is time to open the ARK!!"
"I wander if I can pick this lock? I sure want in there...NOW!"
"Which rock is bigger..in my right hand or left?"
"Mommy, you can't get through...I am a gate!" (no this wasn't the potty dance, she was just pointing between her legs, as in telling me if I wanted through, I had to crawl through her tunnel...yeah right!)
At this point we were playing hide and seek, and she wouldn't let me through to go find her sister. Needless to say, after our afternoon "out" I had trouble pulling the girls back "in" for dinner. Keeping our fingers crossed for another nice day tomorrow...hey we make 48 degrees outside into a "nice day", so at least we aren't asking for too much.

Is it SPRING yet??

My cutie patootie
And they were off...for a game of tag...I guess I'm it.
"Tag...you're it!!"
Taking a brief break on the bench.

We had a nice day today, so decided to take advantage of it. Hopefully there are more of these to come...SOON!!!

Ice Cream??

Nope...it's bubbles
(Dollar Tree ones, and they work GREAT!)
"How do you get this thing to work?"
"Aha...I did it!!
"Bubbles, Bubbles, everywhere!"
Is it spring time yet??

Bubbles

A nice afternoon allowed us to spend some time outside...playing with bubbles
Even though it was sunny...it was still a bit chilly...so we still had to have coats on. (reached upper 40's today...we thought it was warm!)
Catching bubbles
Full of air!
Have I told you we can't wait till SPRING???

Pepperoni Boat

After Sarah's nap yesterday, she snacked on some pepperoni. Here she is showing me her pepperoni boat.
Not very often does she ask me to take her picture...so I had to oblige...and post them.
And I thought this face was goofy...I'm pretty sure she was eating some pepperoni too. (the girls are "addicted" to pepperoni at this point)

AHHHHHHHHHHH

Can you guess what I am doing today???
And this is only part of it...I have one FULL basket in the girls' room to be put away, and one in washer and 1 in dryer and at least 2 more to go. So if I am bald the next time you see me, you will know why...I pulled my hair out. Between terrible twos and laundry I am going nuts.
So...off of blogging and into the pile I go.

Tub Time

Tonight I let the girls paint in the tub. We got these cool tub paints, that are basically colored shower gel, and wash up easily. Sarah was having fun using her three colors...red, blue and yellow and making little squiggles on the wall. (Mary did some drawing, but I was having trouble getting her picture..bad angle from my point..and you know they have to be censored)
Here, Sarah decided it was time to wash Mary's hair...much to her dismay. :(
And my cute little penguin...a new towel that Grandma and Pap got her for Christmas.
And my little butterfly (OK so she had 2 cute moments today)

Finding her own way

This afternoon Sarah decided she needed to wash her hands and then brush her teeth. I wasn't available "that second" to drop what I was doing and get her set up, so she found her own way. She grabbed the empty box from their new car seats and used it as a step stool. As far as she was concerned, it was sturdy enough to hold her and it got her high enough to reach the faucet, so she was set.
I think she would have stayed here all afternoon playing in the water if I would have let her. She just loves to play in the water...especially when she can turn it to the flow that she wants. Mommy does her best to limit the time and the flow...can't waste too much water, ya know?

Just one of the cute things she does...well today it may have been the only cute thing. Her first name was STUBBORN today, and let me tell you, she took it to the extreme. Actually beyond extreme. Praying for a better day tomorrow.
