Christmas at Great Grandma's

Sarah was SO thrilled to get these outfits...no seriously she was. After she pulled them out, she kissed each piece...it was quite comical.
Mary was fighting with the bag.
Sarah excited about her pony set. Mary got one as well.
And the girls each got a new ornament from Aunt Renee. Growing up, she made each of her nieces and nephews a new ornament each Christmas with our name and the year on it. Once we got married, we got a couples ornament and then she shifted, and is starting a collection for her "great" nieces. They love getting the new ornament each year, and I love seeing the creative ideas she comes up with. She is such a crafty person!! Thanks Aunt Renee.

Christmas with PawPaw 3

The girls each got a snowman ornament
Still glowing over her new baby. This girl absolutely LOVES babies!!
A day later...giving PawPaw his presents. Some more rooster sauce. :) (its a hot sauce of some sort)
The girls also gave him a mousepad, gum and coffee.
They had a fabulous Christmas with PawPaw!! Thanks!! Jude and I had a great one too. I got a subscription for a family magazine, a book with ideas for making crafts out of household items, and a flip calendar. Jude got a golf towel with his name on it (really cool), a golf mug full of tees and a calendar. I might be missing something, but either way you get the point...we had a very nice Christmas!!

The finished product

Here is one of the trays of cookies they made...can you tell they were proud of them?
Mary picked the gingerbread men, and Sarah opted to decorate the stars. I helped with this part of the icing...
And the girls did the coloring.
And then they shared their masterpieces.

We even saved some for Santa Claus!!

Gingerbread Cookies

This year the girls have been begging me to make gingerbread man cookies. I have never made them, so opted to buy a kit...all you had to do was add a few ingredients, chill, roll, cut, bake and then decorate. The kit had the cutter and all the decorations needed. Well...we were at my Grandmas house, and they were begging to make them. I was busy working on wedding pictures for my Dad, so I told them they had to ask someone else. I can't remember exactly how it went, but in the end it was PawPaw (my Dad), Pappy Bill and Uncle Tony that assisted them in making cookies. Obviously I had to stop from my picture job to take these pics...this was one Christmas activity that I didn't want to forget.
The girls were in their glory...and in the flour :)
We won't discuss how much flour they used...that doesn't matter. What matters is that they were having the time of their lives!!
Dad was rolling out, the girls were cutting and Uncle Tony was putting them on the trays to bake. Pappy Bill was on oven duty.
What a special Christmas moment to cherish!!

TyeDye Surprise

My cousin Laura reminded me how much Grandma loves tye dye and wished she had some for her kids to wear for the rehearsal. I loved the idea, so picked up white shirts for everyone and made our own tyedye. I wasn't sure how they would turn out, but was quite pleased in the end. Below, Clayton and Mary are presenting Great Grandma and Pappy with their shirts.
And they were great sports, and sported their new shirts...just like their 4 great grandchildren were.
And then we had to have a photo shoot upstairs. I didn't take many pics on my camera, so this is one of the few from the shoot. I ended up using my Dads backup camera.
Don't they make such a cute Bride and Groom?

Pre-wedding pics

Grandma's wedding cake
One of the many cookie trays. Instead of having a cookie table, they had trays made up at each table. It was a really nice idea!!
Grandma and Bill checking out the cookie trays. He had never seen so many cookies before!!

These were taken Friday morning, at Bills church in Grampian.
