Little Unicorn

Last year we went shopping after Halloween and picked out costumes for this year. I was really hoping they would still like what they picked...and sure enough they did.
Sarah was a unicorn...a mighty cute one if you ask me.

And she will set you straight if you call her a pony or horse...she is a UNICORN...see the white horn? :) She was really cute about it, but was definitely getting annoyed with being called a horse.

PARTY

Grandma and Pap gave each of the kids a Halloween basket filled with fun and yummy treats. Sarah loved these glasses that were in ehr bucket. The girls also got a Mr Potato Head and they both love that...it was a huge hit!! (Thanks Grandma and Pap)

The twins...Jude was mixing his costume with Little Jasons claw...and Jason Sr was hiding under a Hannah Montana wig...although he looked more like "IT" from the Adams Family.

Grandkids

On the night of the Urso Halloween Party, Grandma wanted to get her annual "grandkids" picture for her Christmas cards. It wasn't the nicest of days, but they have such a beautiful covered deck that we could use.
I don't think my girls wanted to show that they loved each other...had to stand 10 feet apart.

Here is y favorite of the kiddos. They were being very cooperative...and thank goodness for digital cameras...we could snap a ton of pictures in hope of getting at least one like this. :)

And as we always do the nice picture, the kids always insist on a goofy picture. Ashley didn't want to, so Robert just hung her upside down. (Robert back left holding Ashley upside down, Jason Jr next to him; Sarah in front, Alexandra, Jack and then Mary.

Miss cooperative wasn't being so cooperative at this point. I wanted one of them "closer" together, and she wouldn't look at me, so I told her I'd take it anyways. Mary was showing us what an angel she can be. :)

Grandparents Day

A few weeks back, SFCA (school) had Grandparents Day
Sarah's class sang "I am in the Lords Army"
(and she did a great job...especially the movements)

Mary's class sang "Grand Ole Flag"
(and she did a great job...I actually thought that was a weird song for a young class, but she really learned the words)
Unfortunately during the show she was more preoccupied with waving her hand made flag on a stick that she didn't sing out like she usually does.

But I can't complain...what would you expect with 18- 4 year olds on a stage with little flags to wave. It was all cute!!

And this year Grandma and Pap were the only ones that could make it. THANKS for coming!!! My Grandma and Bill were supposed to come, but Grandma ended up with an appointment she couldn't change.
The girls were THRILLED with Grandma and Pap there. When Sarah was done singing, she was sent back to sit with them...Jude came forward to get her, and she breezed right past him in a FULL sprint to get Pap and give him a BIG hug. Jude felt a little slighted. lol She was Paps buddy the rest of the day...I don't think that string could have been tied any tighter around his little finger. :)

It was a great day. And if you didn't pick up on it, the theme for the day was a patriotic theme. They even did a slide show of relatives the kids had that were in the armed services. It was nice.

Pittsburgh Zoo

Recently my friends and I had planned a trip to the zoo. Well, lo and behold Mary seemed to get sick the morning of. Because my cousin has a little one, we didn't want to risk passing on something, so she decided to go and we would stay home. As the day progressed, Mary seemed just fine, and I truly hated to see such a nice day go to waste; so I decided to still take the girls, but stay away from my cousin. (we just didn't want to take any chances) It actually worked out great because she was able to follow me into and out of the zoo...as she doesn't like travelling in or near the city. We felt bad about not being together, but there is always another day for that. I was so glad we did go though, because Mary was fine and never showed any other sign of getting sick. We enjoyed ourselves, our time outside and even got to see a part of the zoo that we had never been to before..the Kids Kingdom. I always thought it was just a big playground area, but it wasn't. There were more animals there as well as lots of things to do and see. The following posts show you about our day at the zoo...enjoy!!

The sand box was a hit

I thought this was fitting since it was getting close to Halloween. Too bad I couldn't get both of my daughters to look at me at the same time.

Kids Kingdom

At the Pittsburgh zoo, they have an area called Kids Kingdom. It is very cool, and very kid friendly. Here was a walk through area that if the deer chose to be close enough that you could pet them.

And here is Sarah on her favorite bridge again. (I couldn't keep her off this thing)

She was being such a pistol, but you could never tell through those eyes, could you??

And here was another petting area...but this kangaroo was more concerned with getting a drink than he was with getting touched
