Just waiting for the Imagination Movers Concert to start.

It was a beautiful civic center. I know this pic is a bit blurry, but I wanted to show what the inside of this place looked like...you wouldn't believe the detail.

This was just off the right of the stage, and it looked the same to the left as well.

Imagination Movers Live in Concert
Our girls have been watching them...and just love them. When Mary saw on a commercial that they were coming to a town near her, she just HAD to see them. We tried to get tickets for when they come to Pittsburgh, but they were already sold out, so Akron, OH was the closest we could find on a day that suited us. We got the tickets, and the drive really wasn't bad at all.

Now...on with the show!!

I brought some light sticks that the girls got for Halloween, and so they enjoyed playing with them before the show. (there were flashing light stick things for sale, but thankfully my girls were just as content with the ones I brought)

I wanted to include this picture for 2 reasons. # 1, it shows you how good our seats were, and #2 it shows you how Mover Rich interacted with the audience. MANY times, he came off stage and down the aisles to sing with the kids and give them a high five. He even ventured into the balcony at one point. He never made it back as far as us (too many kids in the aisle to push through) so at the end, I let the girls go up when he was in the aisle right in front of us and they got to be right next to him. (my camera was giving my troubles at that point between the movement and the lighting, it just wouldn't take a good picture...probably more the handler than the camera) Either way, I just thought it was cool how they came down and got involved. The kids loved it!!

Meet the Movers

Mover Scott...married and has two kids. He was an elementary school teacher. His goal is to bring strong male role models to children's programming.

Mover Smitty...married and has 2 dogs. He is a firefighter in New Orleans, and is an outdoorsman...loving to hunt, fish, hike and the like.

Mover Rich...is married and has 5 children. He a multi-talented musician and brings his background from Washington D.C and New Orleans to his music.

Mover Dave...is married and has 2 children. He is an architect and has been part of a design team involved in many well known places in New Orleans. He was the master mind behind Warehouse Mouse. He is a very involved Dad...being a cub scout den leader and a coach for various team sports.

All of the above bio info was taken from their website as well as what they told us at the concert.

These guys are just great...they are Dads and/or family guys that sing about things that relate to their kids. They formed in 2003 and began singing to entertain the kids. They just exploded from there. Disney just recently (2008) picked them up and developed their show, The Imagination Movers, based on their song lyrics. Everything about them is "family friendly". If you have never seen them before you should check them out on the Disney Channel.

“reach high, think big, work hard and have fun!”

Warehouse Mouse even made a few appearances...he was running the lights and sound equipment. :) So every once in a while he would flip the wrong switch and turn out all the lights and things like that...it was a very clever way to have him be a part..via the big screen.

The title of this post is their motto; “reach high, think big, work hard and have fun!” and is a song of theirs. The great thing about this concert is they taught the songs to the kids, as well as walked them through step by step-the motions for the songs. They even made the parents get up and dance a bit.

Can you tell the girls were enjoying it? I think they were singing the song “I Want My Mommy (Time for Bed).” (a very cute song)

Loved it!!

I absolutely loved seeing the girls enjoy themselves so much. They were out of their seats and involved in everything. This was such a great concert.

The Imagination Movers are really great guys. They ended the show with a great message. I wish I could describe it better, but the gist of it was: Believe in and reach for your dreams. Never give up and keep dreaming. They are from New Orleans, and many of them lost everything in the Katrina Floods, so they used that as an example of not giving up on themselves. They had to start over...lost music, instruments and much much more...but they stuck together and pulled through. It was a great message for the kids and adults. And of course they had a song to relate.

It was a late show, so Miss Bee was getting tired. She had to take a moment to be held...but it was just a moment and then she was off and bouncing again.

They are everything that they are on the show plus much much more. Seem like great guys with a great message.

The Movers were GREAT!!!

The Akron Civic Theatre was beautiful. We had fabulous seats, and the girls enjoyed dancing in the aisles...as did pretty much every other kids there.

I don't know if you can tell by the picture...but the girls were SO into this performance. They listened to everything they said and did it. Hmmm...maybe I need to invite the movers to the house, my girls don't ever listen and do like that. lol

Jude was trying to look casual when he saw I was taking a picture...he was actually enjoying the performance...even though it doesn't look like it here.
